What data GameAnalytics collects
Your privacy policy must disclose each of the following data types when you use GameAnalytics.
When does GameAnalytics trigger privacy obligations?
Installing GameAnalytics triggers GDPR obligations immediately if your game has any EU players, and COPPA obligations if you knowingly collect from children under 13. The moment the GameAnalytics SDK initializes, it begins transmitting player progression data, session metadata, device identifiers, and crash reports to GameAnalytics ApS servers in Denmark. This constitutes automated personal data processing under GDPR Article 4(1).
GDPR applies if: You operate in the EU, target EU residents, or have any EU user base—there is no user-volume threshold. You must establish a lawful basis under Article 6 (typically Article 6(1)(a) explicit consent, or Article 6(1)(f) legitimate interest if you can justify behavioral analytics). You must also enter a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with GameAnalytics ApS under GDPR Article 28, because GameAnalytics processes personal data on your instructions.
